Student of the Day Picker
Spin a fair student-of-the-day wheel. Auto-removes picked students so every kid gets a turn. Free, ad-free, classroom-projector-ready.
A student-of-the-day picker chooses a different student to highlight each school day. Use NamesOnWheel by entering your roster, spinning once a day, and tapping 'Remove winner' so each student gets a turn before any repeats. The 'Classroom' theme is high-contrast for projectors, and the result modal stays ad-free so the moment is celebratory and professional.
Why daily rotation matters
Predictable rotations (alphabetical, by row, by birthday) feel fair but produce predictable boredom. Pure random produces small clusters and "I haven't been picked in two weeks" complaints. The Remove-winner workflow gives you the best of both — fully random within the round, and a guaranteed turn for everyone before any repeats.
How to use this picker
- 1
Build the roster on day one
Switch to the Bulk edit tab and paste your full class list, one name per line. Or add students one at a time in the Entries tab. Save the share URL so you can re-load the same roster each morning.
- 2
Spin every morning
30 seconds of your day. Audible ticks build anticipation across the classroom.
- 3
Tap 'Remove winner'
Picked student is excluded from future spins until the rotation completes.
- 4
Reset when everyone's had a turn
Refresh the page or reload the saved URL. The full roster comes back fresh.
