How to use this picker

  1. 1

    Try a spin here

Cryptographic randomness — same math used to generate encryption keys — decides the winner on every spin.

  2. 2

    Run the Fairness page

Visit /fairness — 100,000 live spins, chi-square verified, in your own browser. See that the randomness is real, not just claimed.

  3. 3

    Try fullscreen or Audience mode

For classroom or stream use — fullscreen scales the wheel to the full viewport; Audience mode hides the entry list so viewers can't read ahead.

Frequently asked questions

What makes NamesOnWheel stand out?
Three things we built deliberately: an always ad-free result screen, independently verifiable fairness (our /fairness page runs 100k live spins with a chi-square test in your browser), and sub-1.5s mobile load time. Most free wheel spinners fall short on at least one of these.
Is the randomness really verifiable?
Yes. We use crypto.getRandomValues with rejection sampling to remove modulo bias. More importantly, the /fairness page runs 100,000 live spins through the production picker code in your browser and shows a chi-square distribution chart — you can verify the claim yourself rather than just trusting it.
Is it really free with no account?
Yes. Free forever. Funded by a single banner ad below the wheel — never on the result screen. No premium tier, no signup wall.
Can I import entries from a list or spreadsheet?
Yes — switch to the Bulk edit tab and paste in a plain list (one entry per line), a CSV, or copied cells from Excel or Google Sheets. The importer auto-detects headers and weight columns. Done in seconds.
Does the OBS browser-source overlay work?
Yes. Use https://namesonwheel.net/embed#YOUR_HASH as a browser source in OBS — a transparent, embeddable wheel with a small bundle and fast first paint.
What new features are coming?
Custom segment colors, saved wheel library, audio themes, Flow mode, Audience mode, and Countdown auto-spin are already live. Multi-language support and image wheels are on the roadmap.
